Information about grade 6(This text was generated in the last year. It will be updated next month.) Our sixth grade students are connected through the motto “One World”. One continent has been assigned to each class, and the students get involved with their continent time and again during their time in grade five and six - during UNESCO celebrations, for example. Team spirit is created by the big picture. This topic is great to give the students an impression of differences and similarities. We think of a sensible motto for our new students every year. Mottos have been Janosch, Erich Kästner, or dolphins, for example. However, it is not only the content of the motto, which is important - we think it is also very important that our youngest students can identify with their new school and that they feel they are in good hands. In a big school community like ours, our six parallel classes need something to feel connected. This creates trust, stability, social competence, and security. And this is the base for committed, interested, and independent learning. The constructive cooperation with parents is also very important to us. We know that we can only succeed in showing students a positive way, if we work together as a team. Examples for this team work are talks between students, parents, and teachers, as well as the active participation of parents in the learning process of their children, not only in group lessons. It is just as important for us teachers to discuss different views, to work together for a pedagogic concept, and to create a small school in the big system.
