The pedagogic key aspects of grade 11 are:
Â
- Integrating with the new school surroundings
- Acquiring knowledge by means of targeted challenging and assistance from teachers
- Taking responsibility for themselves and others
In grade 11 we work with a concept which is supposed to train our pupils in self-organized learning, as a preparation for the challenges they will be facing in grade 12 and 13. The course trip to a European city (London, Madrid, Rome, Strasbourg, Kreisau, and Årø, in June 2009), as a pedagogic key aspect, is designed to improve the pupils’ foreign language skills. The trip is composed of several contents that conform to our school’s status as an UNESCO project school.
A new project, which has been carried out for the first time in the school year of 2010/2011, is the MIG-Project (Management Information Game, 23.-27.08.2010). In collaboration with the Bildungswerk der Niedersächsischen Wirtschaft (BNW), which is a non-profit organization for education and economy in Lower Saxony, and the Robert-Bosch-Comprehensive School, 25 pupils were given the possibility to simulate the development of a company for one week - from its formation to its successful launch.
The visit to the BIZ (Career Information Centre) in March 2011, as well as the information on the profiles of grade 12 and 13, and choosing the right profile for themselves (February – April 2011) enables the pupils to take an active part in designing their school life and their future careers. In regards to taking responsibility, the Feedback Weeks in November 2010 and March 2011 also have to be mentioned. Furthermore, in the first semester there will be a slide presentation on rhinos by Armin Püttger-Conradt (29.09.2010) in line with the UNESCO Year of Biological Diversity, as well as the traditional Christmas celebration of grade 12 and 13.
All further plans and dates can be found in the year plan.
