The upper secondary school at the Robert-Bosch-Comprehensive School include the grades 11, 12, and 13. These three school years are divided into an Introductory Phase (grade 11) and a Qualification Phase (grade 12 and 13).  The upper secondary school at the Robert-Bosch-Comprehensive School is directed by Volker Reichardt (Head of Upper Secondary School), Jürgen Braun (Coordinator) and Gerold Jäger (Head of grade 11), with the support of the secretary, Ms. Wedekind.  Normally, pupils who attend grade 11, 12, and 13 of the Robert-Bosch-Comprehensive School, intend to take and pass the Abitur exams at the end of grade 13. However, they also have the possibility to leave the school after grade 12 or 13 with the theoretical part of the advanced technical college entrance qualification. These degrees allow the pupils to attend a university or an advanced technical college respectively.  In order to enable the pupils to achieve the degrees they wish to achieve, two key competences are taught: professional skills and social skills. And to fill these terms with content, there is a pedagogic consensus, which is valid for the three final school years, which has been signed by each pupil at the beginning of grade 11. This pedagogic consensus is an example for the pupils’ active participation in the upper secondary school of the Robert-Bosch-Comprehensive School. The consensus has been created in collaboration of pupils, parents, and teachers and it is being updated regularly by the pupil-teacher-committee.  In addition to the education offered, the pupils are welcome to take part in orientation events (centrally organized or self organized), where they are offered information about universities and careers. Some of these events are, for example, the trip to the BIZ (Career Information Centre) in grade 11, the introduction in the Book of University and Career Information in grade 12, counselling appointments with Ms. Schröder (BIZ), or the trip to the pupil counselling fare “Vocatium Hannover 2011“.  In order to achieve the desired goals, we focus on pedagogical and methodical key aspects.
